Paying for Groq (GroqCloud API): what to know
- Nothing is charged when you upgrade. Groq invoices at the end of the month and charges your card automatically.
- New accounts are also invoiced at $1, $10, $100, $500 and $1,000 of cumulative usage, so the first charges are small and frequent.
- Since billing is in arrears, keep enough on the virtual card for the next invoice. After two failed retries, service may be suspended.

- Groq doesn't bill totals under $0.50, so a few test calls likely cost nothing.
If the payment fails
- Check the balance of the card itself, not the main balance in the bot: the charge goes to the card.
- Re-enter the number, expiry date and CVC: a typo is a common reason for a decline.
- Don't retry many times in a row: payment systems may temporarily decline frequent attempts. Wait and try again.
