How to pay for GitHub with a VirtCardPay card
- Open @VirtCardPaybot in Telegram and press Start.
- Top up your balance with USDT (TRC-20 or BEP-20) or TON.
- Issue a Visa card in US dollars (USD): GitHub is on the list of services it works with.
- Click your avatar, go to Settings → Billing & Licensing → Payment information and click Edit under Payment method. Organizations have their own page under Your organizations → Settings → Billing & Licensing.
- If a 3-D Secure confirmation is requested, the code arrives as a message in the bot.

Paying for GitHub: what to know
- GitHub may place a temporary authorization hold when you start a subscription or trial, or after heavy Actions or Codespaces usage. Keep a little more than the plan price on the card until it clears.
- Actions minutes and Codespaces hours beyond your included usage are metered per calendar month and billed separately from the subscription. Set budgets and alerts in Billing to avoid surprises.
- Each GitHub account — personal, organization or enterprise — is billed separately with its own receipts. An organization's card goes into the organization's settings, not your personal profile.
- You can't remove a card during a paid trial or while there is unpaid metered usage for the month. Settle the balance first, then swap cards.
- If the authorization hold fails, GitHub won't activate the service and may lock the account, so top up the card before you click Upgrade.
If the payment fails
- Check the balance of the card itself, not the main balance in the bot: the charge goes to the card.
- Re-enter the number, expiry date and CVC: a typo is a common reason for a decline.
- Don't retry many times in a row: payment systems may temporarily decline frequent attempts. Wait and try again.
- Still not working? Message support at @VirtCardPaySupportbot and we'll sort it out.
FAQ
Why did GitHub charge me before I bought anything?
That is most likely a verification hold for a new subscription or trial. GitHub says these holds are temporary and released as quickly as possible; if one lasts more than 10 business days, contact the card issuer — for our cards that's @VirtCardPaySupportbot.
Can one card cover GitHub Team and Codespaces?
Yes. Everything paid on the account — plan, seats, Actions, Codespaces, LFS — is charged to the card in Payment information. The plan is billed on its start date, while Actions and Codespaces usage is billed per calendar month.
How much is GitHub Team?
On github.com/pricing at the time of checking, Team is $4 per user per month and Enterprise starts at $21. Codespaces is billed separately, starting at $0.18 per compute hour.
How do I stop Actions from running up a big bill?
Set budgets and alerts for metered products under Billing & Licensing. You'll see what's accruing during the month and can top up the card or cut usage in time.
How much do I need to put on the card?
At issue, from $30 / €30 goes straight onto the card. After that, top up from $30 / €30; the top-up fee is 4%. Keep the charge amount on the card plus a small margin.
Is it safe?
Only you see the card details — in the bot and your dashboard. 3-D Secure codes arrive in Telegram, and you can freeze the card in one tap.
