How to pay for Bolt with a VirtCardPay card
- Open @VirtCardPaybot in Telegram and press Start.

Paying for Bolt: what to know
- Before a scooter or e-bike ride, Bolt places a hold on the card. If the ride costs less, the difference is released straight away, but your bank can take up to 14 days to show it.
- If the authorisation fails because of low funds or a bank decline, you can't start the ride. Top up before you book, not after.
- A temporary authorisation can also appear for a cancelled ride. If it's still there after 14 days, Bolt says to contact your bank, which for this card means VirtCardPay support.
- If your fare goes up, you may briefly see both the original hold and the final charge. Bolt releases the excess hold itself, so you're not paying twice.
- Bolt charges in local currency in each country, and the amount is converted to euros at the card network's rate.
If the payment fails
- Check the balance of the card itself, not the main balance in the bot: the charge goes to the card.
- Re-enter the number, expiry date and CVC: a typo is a common reason for a decline.
- Don't retry many times in a row: payment systems may temporarily decline frequent attempts. Wait and try again.

Why did Bolt charge me twice for one ride?
Usually one transaction is a temporary hold and the other is the final payment. The hold is released immediately or within 14 days, depending on the bank.
I can't start a Bolt scooter ride. What should I do?
The verification hold most likely failed because the card is short of funds or the transaction was declined. Top up and try again.
Can I use the Visa USD card for Bolt?
No. Visa USD only works with whitelisted online services, and ride-hailing isn't included. Use Mastercard EUR for Bolt.
