How to pay for Linode (Akamai) with a VirtCardPay card
- Open @VirtCardPaybot in Telegram and press Start.
- Top up your balance with USDT (TRC-20 or BEP-20) or TON.
- Issue a Visa card in US dollars (USD): Linode (Akamai) is on the list of services it works with.
- In Cloud Manager, go to Administration → Billing and click Add Payment Method under Payment Method. You can also make a manual payment toward your balance there.
- If a 3-D Secure confirmation is requested, the code arrives as a message in the bot.

Paying for Linode (Akamai): what to know
- When the payment processor verifies the card, your bank may place a $1 authorization hold. Keep a few dollars on the card above your order amount.
- A new card doesn't pay off an existing past-due balance automatically; make a manual payment under Billing after adding it.
- You can also link Google Pay or PayPal, but they still draw from a card or bank account, and Google Pay balances aren't supported.
- If your account has credit, invoices are paid from it first and only the remainder goes to the card.
If the payment fails
- Check the balance of the card itself, not the main balance in the bot: the charge goes to the card.
- Re-enter the number, expiry date and CVC: a typo is a common reason for a decline.
- Don't retry many times in a row: payment systems may temporarily decline frequent attempts. Wait and try again.

Why did Linode hold $1 on my card?
It's a card check during linking. The hold is temporary and no money is taken.
Are Linode and Akamai the same thing?
Yes, Linode now runs as Akamai Cloud. Your account, Cloud Manager and payment methods stay the same; the docs moved to Akamai's site.
I added a new card but the balance is still due. Why?
Adding a payment method doesn't charge a past-due balance right away. Pay it manually under Administration → Billing.
How much do I need to put on the card?
At issue, from $30 / €30 goes straight onto the card. After that, top up from $30 / €30; the top-up fee is 4%. Keep the charge amount on the card plus a small margin.
Is it safe?
Only you see the card details — in the bot and your dashboard. 3-D Secure codes arrive in Telegram, and you can freeze the card in one tap.
