Paying for Slack: what to know
- A member counts as active if they did something in Slack in the last 28 days. Inactive members earn a prorated credit toward future payments.
- Slack credits have no cash value and expire if you leave the paid plan.
- New members are prorated for the rest of the period. On annual plans, the balance for added members is charged on the last day of the month.
- New teams that buy online within 7 days of creating the workspace get 50% off the first 3 months on monthly billing.
- If every member is inactive, Slack still bills for at least one until you move to the free plan.
If the payment fails
- Check the balance of the card itself, not the main balance in the bot: the charge goes to the card.
- Re-enter the number, expiry date and CVC: a typo is a common reason for a decline.
- Don't retry many times in a row: payment systems may temporarily decline frequent attempts. Wait and try again.
