Paying for Grok: what to know
- Legacy SuperGrok keeps running until you cancel it. If you switch to The X Subscription, unused time is refunded pro rata, separately from the new charge.
- Prices exclude sales tax, which may be added at checkout.
- The API is prepaid: once credits run out, requests are rejected. Auto top-up has a $5 minimum and an optional monthly cap.
- API credits currently have to be bought through Guest Checkout; your card is saved automatically after the first purchase.
- Grok Bot is included from Premium up; the $8 Plus plan doesn't include it.
If the payment fails
- Check the balance of the card itself, not the main balance in the bot: the charge goes to the card.
- Re-enter the number, expiry date and CVC: a typo is a common reason for a decline.
- Don't retry many times in a row: payment systems may temporarily decline frequent attempts. Wait and try again.

Can I remove my card from the xAI console?
You can't remove the last payment method on file; you can only replace it under Billing details.
