Paying for Telegram Premium: what to know
- @PremiumBot is cheaper because Apple and Google don't take a fee on these payments.
- Premium works in every Telegram app no matter where you bought it. You can pay by card in Telegram Desktop and use Premium on your phone.
- With the bot, the currency of your first subscription depends on your phone number's country code; later payments use the country of your payment method.
- Gift Premium for 3, 6 or 12 months (the Gift Premium button on a profile) costs the same in every country. It's an option if local pricing isn't available for your card.
- Telegram doesn't store card details; bot payments are handled by a third-party payment provider.
If the payment fails
- Check the balance of the card itself, not the main balance in the bot: the charge goes to the card.
- Re-enter the number, expiry date and CVC: a typo is a common reason for a decline.
- Don't retry many times in a row: payment systems may temporarily decline frequent attempts. Wait and try again.
