A VirtCardPay account is protected by default through Telegram binding. That's already good, but if your account holds significant amounts, there are several steps that add extra protection.

1. Secure Telegram

This is the first and most important measure. Your VirtCardPay account is linked to your Telegram account — meaning anyone who hijacks Telegram also gains access to your cabinet.

  • Enable Two-Step Verification in Telegram (Settings → Privacy and Security → Two-Step Verification). This adds an extra password on top of the SMS code.
  • Attach a backup email — so you can recover access if you lose it.
  • Check active sessions (Settings → Devices) and close any unfamiliar ones.
  • Restrict who can see your phone number: Privacy and Security → Phone Number → Nobody.

2. Set a PIN Code for the Cabinet

In VirtCardPay, under the Security section, you can set a PIN (4-6 digits) that is required for critical operations: withdrawal, card issuance, settings changes. Even if someone gains access to your Telegram, major operations are blocked without the PIN.

Do not use simple combinations (1234, date of birth, last 4 digits of your card).

3. Enable Email Notifications

If email binding is available in your cabinet, do it. Email is a backup channel in case of Telegram issues. You will receive:

  • Notifications about login from a new device.
  • Notifications about large transactions.
  • A link to reset your password or PIN if you lose access.

Your email should be secure (with 2FA enabled). Do not use an email you rarely check.

4. Notifications for Every Operation

In the VirtCardPay Telegram bot, configure notifications: for every card charge, every transaction, every login. This means many push messages, but in return you immediately see suspicious activity.

In the first few days after enabling, it may seem noisy. After a week, you get used to it and only react to unusual events.

5. Card Limits

Set a limit for each virtual card — not how much money to keep, but the maximum that can be charged. In the card settings — max transaction amount. If you set the limit slightly above the actual cost of your subscription, no unexpected charge will go through.

6. Backup Access Channel

If you have critical amounts, consider a second Telegram account on a different number as an emergency one. In VirtCardPay (where possible), add the contact information of the backup account in the cabinet. This is a backup communication channel with support in case your main account is hijacked.

7. Regularly Check Activity

Once a week — spend 30 seconds looking at the transaction feed. Strange charges, login attempts from another device — you'll see them immediately.
